About Me
My journey with clay began in 2016. I had booked a pottery workshop as a birthday present for my twin sister, as I knew her love for pottery began somewhat 30 years ago and was not able to pursue it.
It was there where my passion began. There was no question that this would be a very personal and healing journey for me. I haven't look back it has been a very rewarding journey thus far.
I have a beautiful daughter whom supports me unselfishly and is my evolving inspiration truly.
Coco, my darling four legged whippet whom keeps me so incredibly entertained with his shenanigans and his boyish charm.
Michael my partner who lives five minutes down the road, whom has given me an enormous amount of help restoring the carriage.
The Two Throwers Handmade Pottery began its life in a Victorian Railway Sleeper Carriage which was located in a little country town in Victoria. I knew right then this beauty was coming to Sydney in the township of Richmond where I live. And so it did...
Salvaged and restored it is where you will find me making pottery. In this space I feel encompassed by love and such joy. This art medium has taught me so much about myself...
I sat at the same table for one year hand building, My teacher would say to me, “Lydia" when are you going to get on the wheel ? My reply was “When I get sick of feeling tranquil and calm... I did take up the wheel with my teacher and now I incorporate both techniques in my work.
Years on and I'm still not sick of it.... My life with clay has enriched my soul.
